Hello All!

Since this part of the forum was created as a "welcome" I wanted to do so. My name is Joe Mork and I am from Las Cruces, NM. I have been a member of the club since 2007. I enjoy collecting minerals, fossils, and to an extent some rocks. I have been to 22 different collecting sites here in NM, some told in books and some not. Recently I have got in to collecting micromounts and am in the slow process of purchasing a microscope. At this time I am a Management Support Assistant on White Sands Missile Range and I work for the Chief of Police. I haven't been able to contribute to the club in some time now because my health has been poor, but hopefully in the future will be able to spend more time there. I have a fiance and a new baby who is 5 mo. old. If any of you all are interested in collecting some time, especially in the Las Cruces area please shoot me an email at joseph_mork@yahoo.com. At this time collecting will have to be limited to areas that are not too trecherous.

Sorry about taking so long but with being president, assistant webmaster........ETC.ETC It seldom I get over here. If your looking for a cheap scope for Micro mounts try the MATTEL Q3 , you can find them on any of the sites like ebay. I was given one by my son (his kids don't use it ) and was surprised at the Quality of the Pictures( I use mine for locating fractures before cabbing. I know it's just suppose to be a toy but it does work to 100X.
